Khanna Rolls Out Major Iranian-American Support
SAN JOSE – The Ro Khanna campaign team today announced significant support from Silicon Valley’s Iranian-American community. Khanna took an early and strong stand against the discriminatory measures in HR158 which targeted the families of Iranian-Americans and was a vocal advocate for the Obama administration’s efforts to disarm Iran and establish a constructive relationship with the country.
Some of the very political benefactors whose names are involved in an ethics complaint against Rep. Mike Honda are helping him defend against it.
Three donors who recently contributed to the Silicon Valley congressman’s legal defense were Dr. Ngai Nguyen of San Jose, who gave $5,000; attorney Sukhan Kim, who also gave $5,000; and Dr. Gloria Wu of San Jose, who gave $1,000. Their names also appear on a donor list that is part of an ongoing ethics investigation of Honda.
Rep. Mike Honda’s primary election defeat to Ro Khanna almost certainly spells deuces for the eight-term South Bay congressman. Consider that Khanna announced a huge fundraising advantage with $1.5 million cash on hand as he heads toward the November runoff, and the Honda camp’s sudden post-primary departures—field director Andrew Munson, finance director Sudip Dutta and deputy finance director Nicole Nabulsi—and it makes sense why Uncle Mike’s remaining operatives are sticking to “right-wing millionaire and billionaire” talking points like life preservers.

Dear Rep. Honda:
I know this goes against every instinct you have as a competitive politician. And I know you may feel you let down your supporters. But it is time to make way for Ro Khanna. It's time to accept the inevitable and spend your time on pursuits other than campaigning in the next five months.
